playground for the project "music for staircases" are the staircases of the psychatric pavillon at steinhof/vienna. without using external tone producers the environment produces its own sound aesthetics by feedback loops. also visitors will become a parameter in the closed-circuit-loop by ultrasonic distance measuring they force the filters to raise or fall. the speed of their passing, the number of persons in the staircase will lead to a singular sound experience. the feedback has been recorded and will be available on selected ambient staircase field recordings
